In this project, an innovative art education concept for mobile devices – in particular smartphones and tablet computers – will be developed for the recently opened and privately held Museum Angerlehner. On an exhibition area of more than 2,000 square meters and a 50-meter long viewable depot with a hanging area of 6,000 square meters, a collection of contemporary art with thousands of paintings, sketches, photographs and sculptures is shown. The project goal is the prototypical implementation of a mobile cross-platform museum guide with server backend, which (i) allows for a flexible composition of interactive and multimedia contents to museum tours and (ii) can easily be extended with new contents. A special focus will be on an extensible software architecture and a computer vision-based recognition of exhibits.
