Our R&D project SOCIALCARE is presented in the current edition 5/2015 of Austria Innovativ on pages 46 to 47 (article in German). The SOCIALCARE project is presented as an example in the context of an article, which describes research conducted at the University of Applied Science Upper Austria in the field of e-Health and Ambient Assisted Living. The article highlights the goals of the project to create a social care network for citizen empowerment and care support in local communities using innovative technologies (e.g. state-of-the-art mobile devices, on-body sensors, …). It is planned to develop a toolkit and find guidelines as well as best practices for building up such a social network. The results will be evaluated in pilot studies in two European countries. The toolkit will be based on open-source software in order to be fexible and easily adapted to different requirements.
