From February 1 to February 2, we had a fruitful partner meeting for the R&D project SOCIALCARE with 16 participants from Austria (Johanniter Österreich Ausbildung und Forschung gemeinnützige GmbH, LIFEtool gemeinnuetzige GmbH and University of Applied Science Upper Austria), Belgium (Johanniter International), Spain (Atos Worldline Spain and Ingeniería y Soluciones Informáticas) and The Netherlands (Eerste Verdieping Internet Communities and The National Foundation for the Elderly). The first meeting day took place in Linz at the LIFEtool headquarter and the second day at the Hagenberg Campus of the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria. Goal of the project SOCIALCARE is to develop a platform which supports volunteers, neighbours and family members to help older people at a local level to live longer independently at home. The platform should bring people together in the places where they live. Among other things, it should allow to exchange offers and demands and to organize volunteering work at a local level in a community. The platform will be tested in two pilot countries.
